The above video covers off many questions from Dan himself, especially around earning potential and what's included when you join.

Where can I get more information on the course?

Please find lots of useful information here (and watch the video): https://dogtraineracademy.org/dog-trainer-academy-course-information/

When will enrollment open again?

The DTA opens up every 4-6 weeks. If you are currently receiving dog trainer informative emails from us, then sit tight and we'll email you when we are getting close to opening.

If you haven't already joined our mailing list to find out more about the DTA and when it opens, Click Here To Receive Updates and More Info On Becoming A Dog Trainer

How long is enrollment open for?

The enrollment period will only be open for about 10 days because it fills up so quickly.

How much is the course?

Full price for the course is $4299 (USD), but there is an Early Bird price which will be around $2799 (one-time) or about $1499 initially + 11 monthly payments of $130. Please note we reserve the right to change these prices, and all prices are quoted in US Dollars.

How long is the course?

It takes 12 months to complete the course and become certified (although some Graduates have done it in much less time and started doing paid consultations after 6-8 months. Once your 12 months are up, there will be a small annual renewal fee to keep your access to the site and to the Private Facebook Group.

How many hours per week do I need to set aside for this course?

Everyone learns at their own pace, but we recommend you set aside between 3-5 hours per week to complete the course, and there is the opportunity to increase your knowledge base through additional study if you wish to.

Is it possible to study this course part time and continue my full time job?

Yes, absolutely. It is very likely that you would dovetail this in with your current or other job or work until you are ready to scale it up.

Can I go at my own pace? Can I take breaks?

Yes, absolutely. You are free to go at your own pace. The content is easily consumable within the 12 month period, so not only is there no pressure to stick to a schedule, but you can also comfortably take long breaks.

Can I just do a portion of the course?

Unfortunately, no. Dan has designed the program to help dog trainers deliver the method in a very specific way. It's a bit like knowing how to drive a car versus knowing how to build the car. What we mean is, knowing the 5 Golden Rules is one thing, but knowing exactly how to approach the front gate of your client while their massive Leonberger is trying to rip your throat out, is certainly another.

Will Dan be answering questions in the closed Facebook community?

Yes, Dan will be active on the private Facebook community page, monitoring the activity and helping to answer any questions which need his input.

When will I be able to actually start doing consultations?

There is a difference between working with clients and actually being fully certified...So some of you will be ready to work with clients after 4 months of the course however you will not be certified. There is no pressure to do so and many of you will wish to wait until you have completed the 12 month program and are fully certified.

How often will there be new webinars?

Every couple of weeks we run a webinar, which either goes into a specific dog training or business topic or answers a more detailed range of questions that have come up.

Do I need a dog to complete the course?

No. Although I am sure it will bring it all to life for you and make it a lot more fun!

What learning style does this program best suit?

The simple answer...every learning style. This course information is accessible through video, audio, and detailed course notes/lectures. It doesn’t matter if you’re a visual, audio, or tactile learner. We have something for everyone! Bonus...because we have some many different ways to access the course info, you can take it with you wherever you go by plane, train, automobile or in the comfort of your own home.

Will we get time with Dan 1-on-1?

Yes, each of the 3 tiers of the program comes with different levels of 1-on-1 time with Dan.

  • Dog Trainer Academy Early Bird: 30min Planning Session with Doggy Dan
  • Dog Trainer Academy VIP: 2x 1hr Bi-Annual Planning Sessions with Doggy Dan

Everybody will also have access to Dan through the closed Facebook group, the Q & A sessions and regular webinars.

Can I get feedback on my specific situation by sharing videos inside the site?

Yes. Students will be able to upload video clips into the Facebook Community where feedback and assistance can be provided from Doggy Dan and the other students.

What will I actually be certified in after I complete the 12 month training program?

At the end of the completed course you will graduate with a certificate in “Owner Education and Dog Communication from Doggy Dan’s Dog Trainer Academy". You will receive a certificate and a certified logo to add to your website.

How will the certification be assessed?

Throughout the 12 month course there will be a number of online tests, and reports that will need to be submitted and passed in order to gain the certification.

Is the course certification recognised internationally?

When it comes to certification, it is a bit like religion; there are many schools of thought out there, and each school can certify you in their way of thinking. But there is not one that governs all dog trainers, in all countries. And just like religion, the biggest religions are not always the best, or right, for everyone!
There is actually no one single Dog Trainer Certification across the U.S, or the world, unlike more established careers such as becoming a Doctor or Engineer.
Instead it is very much self governing with different trainers establishing their own certifications, such as our Dog Trainer Academy, or applying to one of many organisations that have set themselves up with their own rules of what they believe. Like many things there is no agreement on the best way to train dogs, so there are organisations that will agree to certify you as a trainer even though you use electric shock collars, whilst other trainers feel this is not the best way to move forward. So when people ask if you are certified, you'll be able to point them to our site and show them your certification (you'll be added to our Honours Roll page). The most important thing we believe is that you have the knowledge of how to help the owners, a good understanding of the dogs, the cause of the issue, safety, of getting a dog to change their behavior, all of which is covered off in the course. At the end of the completed course you will graduate with a certificate in “Owner Education and Dog Communication” from Doggy Dan’s Dog Trainer Academy. This is not offered by any other dog trainer education program out there, so you're already way ahead of the pack :) Check out what our Students and Graduates are saying HERE.

What other equipment do I require to complete the course?

The main thing that you will need to complete the course is a device for watching videos such as a computer, laptop or tablet, some headphones, a printer and a mobile phone.

Is the DTA different to TODT?

Yes, the Dog trainer Academy course is a lot different to The Online Dog Trainer program. There are three main differences:

Firstly, inside the member's area you'll find the Trainer Academy is the heart of the program, where Dan gives lectures to a live group of dog trainer students. This covers everything about HOW to be a dog trainer. There are 13 lessons in this section:

  • Lesson 1: Introduction
  • Lesson 2: Problem & Solution
  • Lesson 3: Dog Training
  • Lesson 4: Pre Consult
  • Lesson 5: The Consultation
  • Lesson 6: Consults - Another Angle
  • Lesson 7: Tricky Consultations
  • Lesson 8: Safety
  • Lesson 9: Post Consult Feedback
  • Lesson 10: Marketing & Branding
  • Lesson 11: Financial Success
  • Lesson 12: Creating Success
  • Lesson 13: Reading Dogs & Intuition

As you can see from the list, this is all the information you need to become a certified dog trainer.

Secondly, you get to watch over 30 full consults, where Dan takes you into people's houses... from start to finish. This will give you the total confidence you need to run your own consultations, and replicate how he teaches owners and trains the dogs. Imagine being able to see how he handles almost every environment/client/dog. This is your fast track to creating lasting results and a truly respected name in the dog training industry in your area.

Thirdly, you get one-on-one time with Dan. You get to ask him questions, and get his help as he mentors you through your training and helps you get your business off the ground and flying.

There's also lots, lots more... more theory, a whole section on personal development, a growing community of like minded people to engage with and feed off.

There really is no other program like this anywhere in the world. And one lady recently posted in the Facebook comment section on the introductory video series that she took a ten thousand dollar course recently and all she learned was how to correct the dog on the chain. This really is revolutionary. And it works - that's the beauty of it.

Should I cancel/refund my TODT subscription if I join the DTA?

Yes, the Dog Trainer Academy course does contain all of the The Online Dog Trainer program, but it is still VERY, VERY different.

So we recommend you cancel your current subscription to TODT. Follow the cancellation instructions inside the TODT site on the My Account page.

What do I get, and what happens after 12 months?

There are a lot of downloadable course notes, forms, and PDFs within the various courses in the program. These are obviously for you to keep. But as 90% of the material is video based training (because we know that's the best way to learn), it's very difficult to provide all of that for you to keep. And there's 12 months of content, which is never going to fit on one DVD, let alone 100 DVDs!
So what we've done, is that after you graduate with your certificate from the 12 month course, there will be a small monthly fee to remain as a member and get full access to all the material, including all the new webinars, additional training, Ask Dan recordings and also access to the private Facebook group.
We will also provide your clients with a hefty discount to The Online Dog Trainer so they are supported by Dan too. This will be gold for you to get feedback from Dan on all your consults and your business building progress. It's difficult to excel at anything really without a mentor to guide them, so this is what Dan will become to you. We haven't set a price yet, but it will be pretty low, around 16 bucks a month.

Are there lots of opportunities for Dog Trainers?

Dog training opportunities are growing everyday, all over the world.

Quote from Forbes Magazine: “In tough times, pet owners tend to scrimp on pet toys and products, but they still shell out the dough to ensure that their pets stay healthy and happy. Offering pet services like training, day care and grooming are at the head of the pack.”

There's lots of information online to prove this: https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=growth+industry+dog+training&oq=growth+industry+dog+training&aqs=chrome..69i57.12237j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

How long before I start making good money?
As with many things it depends on a number of factors:

  • your level of commitment and the number of hours per week you study
  • how quickly you pick it all up
  • what background knowledge and connection with dogs you have already
  • your ability to generate leads and customers through a website or word of mouth
  • the need for dog training in your area etc....

So there are lots of factors that make it very hard to tell you exactly how long it will take you.

There are several people inside the program who have built their websites, used Google ads to drive traffic to their sites, and were doing several consultations a week, charging $250 per consult, all within 3-4 months.

Other students on the course are taking it all in, at a much slower pace.

Is there a shorter course? Or a CHEAPER course?

No, there is no shorter course. If you're asking if you can start earning earlier than 12 months, the answer is yes. We've had students who've never worked with dogs before start doing paid consultations after just 6 months.

Is there a cheaper course? The short answer is no. We are committed to producing great dog trainers who run their own successful business, and we don't take that lightly at all. We can't compromise on the high quality of our Graduates.

Does the program include any after training support i.e marketing, branding, insurances?

There is a ton of support once you graduate, and during the training period. Marketing, branding, information and documentation on insurance and liability, contracts and waivers, and everything you could possibly need for your business is provided. We have business and marketing modules that cover set up and branding, how to structure your offerings and how to convert over the phone. We have training and webinars on website creation and conversion, including making expert reviews and analysis available, we have paid advertising strategies and will put you onto the BEST dog training Google Ads manager to help you get set up quickly in your area. We also have an entire section on improving yourself and working on your beliefs so you can become the best possible version of you. And this is just what we offer in the course...inside the private Facebook group you will be getting these answers and more from like minded students who are in the course and those that have graduated and are out there succeeding...the community is incredibly strong and contacts and friendships are being made for life.

How long is the money-back guarantee and how does it work?

The money-back guarantee is for 60 days, and to action it, all you need to do is tell Doggy Dan or the support team that you wish to cancel by emailing us at doggydan@dogtraineracademy.org. There are no limitations on the guarantee except for the 60 day period.
